A Different Kind of Father’s Day
Father’s Day feels different now—more meaningful, more complete. Growing up without a biological father figure taught me early that life isn’t always fair, but it also showed me how love finds a way through unexpected channels. While other children had their dads to look up to, I learned that family comes in many forms, and sometimes the most profound love comes from those who choose to step into that sacred role.
A Grandfather’s Wisdom

My grandfather stepped into that role, becoming the father I needed. His wisdom shaped not just my childhood, but my entire approach to choosing a life partner. Through countless conversations and gentle guidance, he taught me what truly matters in a man. He always said, “Choose a man who knows how to pray, believes in what he prays, lives by what he prays, and understands how to apply God’s response to his prayers.” These weren’t just words—they became my blueprint for love.
Choosing Love Over Perfection
My husband isn’t perfect—he doesn’t have a Hollywood face or saint-like perfection. He makes mistakes, has his flaws, and certainly isn’t without his human moments. But he knows how to pray, and that checked the most important box on my grandfather’s list. This spiritual foundation made saying “yes” to his marriage proposal easy, even during the uncertain pandemic era when everything felt unstable.
Seeing What I Always Longed For
Watching him care for us, play with our son, read bedtime stories, and share his retirement dreams and travel goals, I see the father I longed to have growing up. In his gentle patience and unwavering presence, I’m finally experiencing what a father’s love truly means.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for being our father, and for letting me feel what father’s love is too.
